The Raspberry Pi 4B is a good mini computer under €100 on the market. It has the size of a debit card but offers many functionalities. The brain is a Broadcom BCM2711, Quad core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC. With the Raspberry Pi 4 boards it is possible for the first time to choose the working memory yourself. The basic model is just like its predecessors 1GB RAM. Do you want more? No problem! You can also choose 2GB, 4GB or even 8GB RAM. Also new on the Pi 4 is the HDMI port or better said the two Micro HDMI ports. You can now connect two screens to the Pi4 with a maximum of 4K resolution per screen. Ideal for multitasking or narrowcasting projects. You can connect the Pi 4 wirelessly to the internet and/or bluetooth devices. Do you need faster internet? Then you can also use the gigabit ethernet port.

Getting started with the Pi4

Want to buy a Raspberry Pi 4? Please note that it is delivered bare. You need a Micro SD card with an OS such as Raspberry Pi OS or Ubuntu to make the Pi 4 work. In addition, you need to power the Pi. This is done by default via the USB-C connector to which you can connect a 5V 3A power supply. But you can also use the PoE+ HAT, for example. Just like a large computer, you want to protect the Raspberry Pi 4. There are a lot of cases available. They come in all colors, sizes and materials. A popular choice is a metal cooling case. This protects the Pi and cools it at the same time. Are you going to use the Pi as a desktop computer? Then you need a Micro HDMI cable, monitor, keyboard and mouse. Are you going to use the Pi for home automation? Then you may need a P1 cable and a network cable.
