There are also built-in NeoPixel LEDs for visual feedback. These are controllable via I2C. This breakout is perfect for large projects with many knobs. You can solder any standard PEC11 pinout rotary encoder with or without pushbuttons onto it. The onboard microcontroller, programmed with seesaw firmware, tracks all the pulses and pins. It stores the incremental value for I2C readout. Connect it with a Stemma QT cable and you're ready to go. Use the Adafruit Arduino library to read and control the data.
